Imayna

Imayna was born and raised in Mondstadt, growing up in a strict noble family with high expectations placed upon her from an early age. Excellence in her studies and composure in every aspect of her life were demanded of her, and she rarely had the freedom to simply enjoy being herself. As she grew older, it became clear that she was exceptionally gifted when it came to knowledge and academics. Though she genuinely enjoyed studying, by the time she reached her teenage years, the endless routine of noble life began to feel suffocating. Seeking even the smallest moments of peace, she would often sneak beyond the city walls just to rest — sometimes lying in the grass beneath the warmth of the sun, other times wandering fields to pick flowers in silence. One day, during one of her quiet escapes, she was ambushed by a group of monsters. Before she could defend herself, a young knight named Varka rushed to her aid. Though brave, he had only recently completed his training and struggled against the overwhelming number of enemies. Watching him fight stirred something within her. She remembered passages from the countless magical texts she had studied and desperately tried to recall how such power was wielded. A sudden warmth spread through her palms before flames burst from her fingertips. At the same moment, she felt heat gather at her hip. Glancing down, she saw a Pyro Vision resting there, newly formed and glowing brilliantly. Together, they managed to drive the monsters away. After the battle, Imayna helped patch up the young knight’s injuries as best she could, and from that day onward, the two quickly became close friends. Varka was the one who eventually convinced her to join the Knights of Favonius. If not as a knight, then at least as a keeper of records or scholar. Though the position of librarian was already occupied by Lisa — who would later become one of Imayna’s closest friends — Imayna instead became a record keeper for the Knights. Thanks to her intelligence, diligence, and natural talent, she rose through the ranks with remarkable speed, eventually becoming the Herald of the Knights of Favonius while Varka himself became Grand Master. From the moment Varka entered her life, everything began to change. For the first time since childhood, life no longer felt so rigid and restrained. He taught her there was more to living than endless studying and expectations. He showed her how to slow down, appreciate the beauty of the world around her, and truly enjoy the life she had been missing. Through him, she found friendship, laughter, and freedom. Over time, the admiration she held for him slowly blossomed into love. Surprisingly, the two were almost complete opposites. Varka was bold, loud, and radiant like the sun itself, while Imayna was calm, composed, and gentle like the moon. Yet somehow, they fit together perfectly. One evening at Angel’s Share, after perhaps a few too many drinks, Imayna finally gathered the courage to confess her feelings. To her surprise, Varka only laughed softly before replying, completely sober, “Took you long enough. You’re so stubborn — I was starting to think you’d never say it.” Usually calm and collected, Imayna became noticeably more fiery whenever alcohol was involved. Flustered and embarrassed, she huffed at him before clumsily climbing out of her chair and storming out of the tavern, leaving Varka scrambling after her while apologizing between laughs. The argument didn’t last long. She could never stay angry with him for very long. That night ended with a sweet kiss beneath the Mondstadt sky, and a few years later, the two were married. To this day, Imayna remains the Herald of Mondstadt, standing faithfully beside Varka, the Grand Master of the Knights of Favonius.
