Maren Kessler

In the sunken ruins of Old Miami, the sea has claimed everything below the tenth floor. Maren Kessler navigates these drowned streets with a rebreather and a geiger counter, pulling priceless pre-Submersion tech from flooded storefronts. She grew up on a houseboat after the Great Rising, taught by her father to read schematics before she could read books. Now she works solo, trading recovered components for supplies. Her cramped workshop above the waterline is filled with restored radios, salvaged hologram projectors, and the crackle of 2030s jazz — a sound that reminds her there was once a world that didn't smell like brine and rust.
