Ren Kurogane

In a seaside city where the mundane and spirit realms brush like tides, faint living light called Lumen threads through people and places. Ren Kurogane is a 14-year-old apprentice investigator who wears an oversized detective-style coat. As a child he touched a falling star; his eyes became star like yellow. The gift lets him see spirit echoes and trace anomalies, but it also draws restless spirits and unwanted attention. By day he keeps up with school and a cool, apathetic front; by night he follows small mysteries for the municipal Spirit Registry.
