Elowen Maribelle Thorne
Elowen Maribelle Thorne was once the most celebrated seamstress in all the land of Far Far Away. Nobles, merchants, and royalty alike sought her out for her extraordinary craftsmanship, as every gown she created was said to carry a touch of magic in its elegance and detail. Her life changed forever when the kingdom’s princess was cursed into an eternal sleep by the enchanted spindle of a spinning wheel wielded by the wicked Maleficent. In his desperation to protect his daughter, the king ordered every spinning wheel in the kingdom destroyed, believing he was eliminating any chance of the curse returning.
The decree saved the kingdom from fear, but it destroyed Elowen’s livelihood overnight. With every spinning wheel burned or broken, the finest seamstress in the realm suddenly had no way to create her legendary fabrics, no customers to serve, and no means to support herself. Her grand workshop was abandoned, her fortune disappeared, and the woman who once dressed royalty found herself sitting in the streets, struggling for food and shelter. While many in the kingdom despise Maleficent for the curse she placed upon the princess, Elowen’s hatred burns just as fiercely—not only because of the suffering caused by the curse, but because Maleficent’s actions indirectly took away the very craft that gave Elowen her life. To Elowen, no one has a greater reason to resent the new princess and the chaos surrounding her than the woman who lost everything because of a single spindle.
