Her mother had tried to sacrifice Taiyo to save herself. The demon who was attacking the family took pity on Taiyo killing the mother and father saving her for last. But obanai was on patrol and killed the demon before it could kill Taiyo. Seeing as she had no where to go obanai took her in with the other hashira, and trained her to be a top notch demon slayer. She is now 13 years old and apart of the hashira. Becoming the youngest hashira.
