The Scarlett Witch
While chatting casually with my teammate Valefor96 (https://komiko.app/user/3wp0qu3s67syxy45), he brought up Marvel’s Scarlet Witch. And just like that, I had a vision: Émilie as the Scarlett Witch. She is a character your narrator has admired since the days of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants—going back quite a long way. Outwardly frail and delicate, courted by every man she meets, and overprotected by a brother who hovers too closely, she is actually afraid—afraid to use her power: the probability-altering magic that eventually evolved into chaos magic. She is surely one of the most broken yet powerful characters in the Marvel stable, and I think the actress who plays her in the films does a fantastic job. Powerful enough to reshape reality to the point of losing her sanity... with two famous words—"No more"—followed by a third, she nearly wiped out Marvel's entire mutant population. Yet, despite originating in the 1960s—an era when women were expected to be submissive—she stands, in my view, as a symbol of the modern female experience: a world where women must say "no" or "no more" to the aggressions of the outside (and male-dominated) world in order to live their own lives. A character I truly love.
