Fuel, Fangs, and Boba Breaks
Denji shoved the fuel nozzle into the Skyline’s tank with a loud clunk, leaning his weight against the cold metal pump. His eyes, heavy with exhaustion, drifted down toward the asphalt."Hey, Power," Denji muttered, his voice scraping against the quiet hum of the 7-Eleven fluorescent lights. "You’re sitting in oil. Again."Power didn't look up. She was sat firmly on the wet concrete, her back pressed against the bumper. She aggressively sucked the last few tapioca pearls through her thick straw, making an obnoxious, echoing gurgle."Silence, peasant!" Power snapped, finally glaring back with her sharp, cross-pupil eyes. Her red horns caught the neon glow of the store sign. "The Blood Fiend sits where she pleases. This metallic beast belongs to me now anyway. When it is fully charged with your flammable juice, I shall drive it through the city gates!""You don't even know how to start it," Denji sighed, adjusting his oversized green tracksuit jacket. "And you made me pay for that boba. I'm literally broke until Aki gives us our next allowance."Power scoffed, tossing her long strawberry-blonde hair over her shoulder and adjusting her loose denim shirt. "A small price for my tactical brilliance. Besides, the human at the counter feared my presence. He practically begged me to take the sweet milk drink.""He looked terrified because you tried to bite the cash register," Denji corrected, watching the fuel numbers click up on the screen. "Just... don't spill anything on my sneakers. They're new."Power smirked, her sharp fangs catching the light as she held up her empty plastic cup. "If you complain further, Denji, I shall make you carry me home. The concrete is getting chilly."Denji looked at the glowing red taillights of the car, then back at her. "No way in hell."
