Intro: In a neo-Victorian city where fog clings to cobblestone alleys, Scarlett works with her grandmother at the Rook & Daughter Funeral Parlor. She was found as an infant among the tombs, wrapped in a funeral shawl, and raised among the dead. Her pale skin and crimson eyes mark her as an omen to superstitious townsfolk, but Scarlett finds comfort in skeletons and silence. By day she embalms the departed; by night she sketches skulls under lamplight. Her blue jacket is embroidered with tiny bone charms she collects from abandoned graves.
