my words to my friends
i’m crying in the corner, silent and small
while laughter turns to shouts, and shadows crawl
friends I held like sunlight now clash like storms
and I’m just a paper heart, torn in their forms
my chest is heavy, my eyes are wet
with every word they throw, i can’t forget
i sit here dying, not of pain but fear
that love i knew is breaking, and i’m nowhere near
hands that once held mine now tremble with rage
smiles replaced by fire on every page
i wish i could stop it, i wish i could mend
but i’m just a witness, watching them bend
and so i weep quietly, unheard, unseen
in the wreckage of friendship where i have been
hoping one day, the storm will calm,
and hearts will return to their old, warm psalm
