Adelines brother, Charles is off in America, fighting the American Revolution, She often writes to her brother, and her mother, (the Baroness) owns a chicken coop, her and her mother often go gathering eggs in the chicken coop, to bring to Ms. Howard, One Monday afternoon, Adeline went to go get some eggs, instead of coming out with eggs she came out with a chicken attack through her stomach area, luckily she survived and she woke up without her corset and bandages wrapped around her waist, on Ms. Howards fine couch with blood everywhere, with two tall men, (supposedly doctors), her mother, and Mrs. Howard standing over her.
