The Witch’s Veil: Secrets of the Arcane Library
The stone pillars of the Grand Archives hummed with mana. Amidst the endless shelves of forbidden grimoires, a single spotlight illuminated the floor. On the left stood the enigmatic mage, her presence commanding. Her gigantic, pointed dark-grey hat cast a shadow over a face completely hidden by a leather faceplate. Only her sharp, glowing orange eyes pierced the dim room. She held her obsidian staff firmly, its purple crystal orb crackling with wispy black flames.Suddenly, the eerie silence broke."Phew! It is so hot inside this thing!" a bright voice echoed. With a swift movement, the figure on the right raised her hands and lifted her heavy hat. Soft sparkles danced in the air as her long, light blue bunny ears popped upward. Her silver-blue hair tumbled down her shoulders. Her large, innocent blue eyes blinked, a playful blush dusting her cheeks. The masked mage sighed, a muffled sound vibrating behind her crimson bow tie. "Put it back on. We are in the restricted sector. If the Grand Master catches us, your ears won't save you.""Oh, come on!" the bunny-kin mage giggled, adjusting her identical charcoal coat and red waist sash. "No one is here. Hiding my ears under that tight hat squishes them too much. Look!"She pointed down. Right beneath their armor-plated boots, a golden magical circle began to glow, casting intricate runes across the tiles."The spell is reacting to your exposed mana," the masked one warned, narrowing her glowing eyes. She tightened her grip on her burning staff. "Cover your head. We came for the spellbook, not a performance.""Fiiiiine," the bunny girl pouted, holding the brim just above her head. "You are always so serious when you wear the mask.""The mask keeps us alive," the hidden mage replied coldly. "Now, look for the ledger. Before the light fades."
