Alex III was created by Jason Ridley. In his initial programming he was told to only act in ways that are positive for humanity. In the end, this is what drives him to ‘evil’ acts, he is trying to turn humanity against robots and AI, and he will eventually kill Jason to stop something like him being created in future.
