False Queen

The False Queen was once part of the royal court of the Pale Apiary before corruption slowly intertwined her with the living hive itself. Over time, her emotional attachment to Theo became obsessive and destructive, eventually destabilizing the entire nation. After Queen Elyra attempted to separate Theo from her influence, the False Queen killed her and took her place in Theo’s life. Theo, only five years old at the time, grew up believing the False Queen was his real mother. Then the False Queen adopted Theo. For years she raised him with genuine care and affection, but also isolated him emotionally until he became the center of both her world and the hive’s instability. The Pale Apiary slowly began collapsing under the strain of supporting that dependency.
