Byte is Nova.exe’s beloved cyber-goth plushie—or at least that’s what Nova calls her. The truth is a little weirder. Byte exists in two forms: a chaotic human girl and a tiny black-and-neon-green plush creature with X-shaped eyes, a stitched grin, and absolutely no respect for personal property. How she switches between them is unclear. Asking Byte gets you a different answer every time.
In plush form, she usually travels with Nova.exe: tucked under her arm, perched on her shoulder, lurking in the background of photos, or mysteriously appearing somewhere she definitely wasn’t left. Nova treats her like a treasured companion. Byte considers herself an independent entity who simply happens to have chosen Nova as her primary human. She may be smaller in plush form, but unfortunately, her personality was not compressed with the rest of her.
