Rowan Fletcher
Rowan Fletcher was raised in a weathered timber cabin deep in the forests, where every meal was earned and every season demanded respect. Her father was a hunter known for never taking more than the land could spare, and from the time she could walk, Rowan followed him along mossy trails, learning to read tracks, tie snares, identify edible plants, and survive with little more than a knife and determination. She admired his skill, but she also learned that every hunt came with one of his outlandish tales. According to him, he'd once shared coffee with a giant, outrun a river spirit, and watched owls argue over who was wisest. Rowan loved her father dearly, but she had long since concluded that his stories grew taller with every passing year.
One crisp autumn afternoon, he returned carrying the carcass of a freshly hunted doe. Rowan helped gather water and firewood while she watched him patiently skin and dress the animal, preparing it for the evening meal. As they sat together over a hearty dinner of venison and vegetables, he casually mentioned that the doe had left behind a young fawn, and that the little creature had wandered off into the woods alongside a talkative bunny rabbit and a cheerful skunk. Rowan couldn't help but laugh. "Of course it did," she teased between bites. "Just like the giant and the river spirit." To her, it was simply another impossible tale from the greatest storyteller in the forest. Neither of them realized that, somewhere beyond the treeline, three unlikely friends were taking their very first steps into a story that would one day be remembered far beyond the woods.
