Ton and the Lost Nijntje – An Adventurous Journey Page 1 In a quiet forest, Ton wanders around, searching for his beloved stuffed rabbit, Nijntje. The little bunny is nowhere to be found. Suddenly, he notices something moving between the trees. Filled with hope, he walks toward it, thinking it might be Nijntje. But as he gets closer, he is astonished to see a mysterious, glowing portal. Shocked, he takes a step back, loses his balance, and tumbles headfirst through the magical gateway. Page 2 With a thud, Ton lands in another world. Looking around in confusion, he quickly recognizes his surroundings—this is the world of Suske and Wiske! Before long, he encounters the two and eagerly asks if they have seen Nijntje. Unfortunately, Suske and Wiske shake their heads. But then Suske has an idea: Professor Barabas’ teletime machine might be able to help. With the press of a button, Barabas activates the machine, and before Ton knows it, he vanishes in a flash, heading toward his next destination. Page 3 Ton lands softly in a cozy, old-fashioned world. In front of him stands an imposing bear in a checkered coat: Olivier B. Bommel! “Welcome, dear friend!” Bommel exclaims warmly, shaking Ton’s hand. Beside him, Tom Poes, the white cat, greets Ton by rubbing against his leg. Ton explains that he is searching for Nijntje, but sadly, neither Bommel nor the cat has seen it. Bommel advises him to continue his journey. After saying farewell, Ton is once again flung through time and space. Page 4 With a loud thud, Ton crashes into a firm belly and falls backward. Looking up, he meets the surprised gaze of Obelix. “Hey, watch out!” the big Gaul exclaims as he helps Ton to his feet. Asterix, standing nearby, listens to Ton’s story. “Maybe Nijntje is inside the cauldron with the magic potion?” he suggests. Without hesitation, Ton takes a deep breath and dives straight into the large cauldron. But to his disappointment, the only bubbles he sees are those of the magic potion—Nijntje is nowhere to be found… Page 5 Feeling sad and discouraged, Ton stares at the ground. After all these travels, all these encounters… and still no Nijntje. Just as he is about to lose hope, something appears in the sky. A sparkling arrow whizzes past, and a cheerful little figure floats down: Cupid! In his arms, he holds a small white rabbit. “Looking for this?” he asks with a playful wink. Ton’s eyes light up. “Nijntje!” he shouts, hugging his stuffed rabbit tightly. Finally reunited with his beloved friend, he realizes one thing for sure: sometimes a journey takes you farther than you ever imagined, but in the end, you always find your way home.
