We love green...💔
A poem
They say
the world is dead.
They are lying.
The world is not dead.
It was sold,
drilled,
burned,
wrapped in plastic,
then forgotten
like a broken machine.
The palaces still stand a little longer.
The forests,
are now only memories.
They put a price
on every breath.
I was nothing more than a survivor trying to breathe polluted air.
On my old T-shirt,
a few worn-out words:
WE LOVE GREEN
A phrase that has become almost ridiculous
in a world
where nothing grows anymore.
Then I saw you.
A simple daisy.
So small
it could have vanished
into a crack in the concrete.
Yet,
it stood its ground
against an entire ruined city.
That reminded me
that it is not enough
just to keep breathing.
But to hold on to small joys.
I will live, and try to be happy.
Me, a poor immigrant trans woman.
My gentle revenge.
Clinging to this flower.
As I have clung to myself,
and to my memories
of human connection, of solidarity.
