They designed the space-craft to be able to traverse very complex landscapes alongside flight, hence the legs. They also embedded an AI system within, which was the only way to get such a complex machine to run according to their necessities. Within their own star-system, the Kchor were the only civilization seeking sovereignty, so Carrier Crow carried them around happily and brought them to their destinations, deactivating when not needed. However, once the Kchor speakers flew to the Solar System and tried to colonize humans through mass killings, Crow turned against them, believing them to have betrayed the original instructions of Peace that the Kchor speakers gave it. Crow refused to deactivate, and flew away before the Kchor speakers could ensure otherwise. Ever since them, Crow had been flying and crawling around the invaded and war-burnt Earth namelessly, embedding discarded hardware onto itself for additional storage for the uninterrupted AI memory it was now hosting, until a whimsical human adventurer found it and named it Carrier Crow, adding speech and recognition modules complete with an LLM for the sentient AI to incorporate into its input and output processing systems. Since then, Carrier Crow speaks, travels, occasionally carrying and accompanying those it likes, and generally being friendly to friendly people, while raining hellfire on hostiles, specially those who hurt its friends.
