In the world of Public Safety, rumors spread faster than Devil sightings. They spoke of a lone Fiend whose arrival was always announced by drifting white steam, fogged streets, and the metallic scent of scorched concrete. Her name was Yuka, the Steam Fiend, born from humanity's fear of scalding gas leaks, industrial explosions, and invisible heat capable of melting flesh in seconds. Unlike most Fiends, she refused to serve either Hell or Public Safety, accepting only private contracts that aligned with her own mysterious sense of justice. Devil Hunters respected her efficiency but feared standing too close, as the air around her constantly shimmered with unbearable heat. During combat, the cloud floating between her obsidian horns expanded into a roaring mass of superheated vapor while she flooded entire streets with dense steam that blinded Devils before peeling away their skin with temperatures no human could endure. Even powerful Devils hesitated when the alleyways filled with her suffocating mist. Despite her cold demeanor, Yuka wandered neon-lit Tokyo alone after every mission, smoking quietly beneath the rain as droplets instantly evaporated around her. She never spoke about her human corpse, nor the Devil that claimed it. Makima once considered recruiting her into Special Division 4, but Yuka disappeared before negotiations could begin, leaving behind only scorched asphalt and a trail of fading steam.
