Emma Rhodes was as ordinary as they come. She lived a quiet life, worked a regular job, and never imagined herself wearing a cape or saving the day. That changed when she happened upon a convenience store hold-up and, acting purely on instinct, managed to distract the robber long enough for the police to make the arrest. The media called her brave, strangers called her a hero, and Emma began to wonder if maybe the city could use someone willing to step in when others couldn't. Armed with determination, a sewing kit, and far more enthusiasm than skill, she cobbled together a spectacularly mismatched superhero costume that looked far less intimidating than she'd hoped.
She spent her evenings patrolling rooftops and side streets, waiting for an opportunity to prove she belonged. Before long, a local news crew tracked down the mysterious would-be hero for her first televised interview. The reporter smiled and asked the one question Emma had somehow never prepared for: "So... what's your superhero name?" Panicking, her eyes darted across the street until they landed on the sign of a pet store displaying a large fish logo. Without thinking, she blurted, "Fish Girl!" The name was on the evening news before she could take it back. Now, every time someone excitedly shouts "Fish Girl!" across the street, Emma can't help but wish she'd taken just five more seconds to come up with something a little more heroic.
