C-Can I Ask You Something…?
The classroom had already gone quiet with the warm colors of sunset spilling through the windows.
Iris stood there fidgeting nervously, her cheeks glowing pink as she tried to gather the courage to speak. Her fingers trembled slightly, eyes avoiding yours for just a second before looking back with an innocent, hopeful smile.
“Um… if you’re not busy… could you stay with me a little longer?”
It wasn’t confidence.
It wasn’t charm.
It was something much softer — the awkward sincerity of a girl trying her best not to embarrass herself in front of someone important to her.
And somehow… that made her even more adorable.
