Rivals Beneath the Cherry Blossoms [Part 5]
Late at night, Kazumi lies in bed, quietly lost in thought before falling asleep.
She keeps remembering the moment she ran into Setsuna a few days earlier during the cherry blossom outing. More than the joy of seeing her again after so long, what lingers in Kazumi’s mind is Setsuna’s awkward and distant attitude toward her.
Kazumi wonders if she may have hurt Setsuna without realizing it. Naomi’s words also come back to her — that Setsuna’s attitude might have come from jealousy, or from the pain of constantly being compared.
Just then, Kazumi’s phone lights up with a message notification.
The name on the screen is none other than Amagi Setsuna.
Although they still had each other’s contact information, they had rarely exchanged personal messages. Surprised, Kazumi sits up and checks the message.
Setsuna briefly greets her and asks if she is free that weekend. She then suggests meeting at the dojo where they used to train together and tells Kazumi to bring her old karate uniform.
Kazumi is a little confused by the request, but deep down, she is also happy that Setsuna reached out to her first. After a short hesitation, she accepts Setsuna’s invitation and agrees to meet her at the dojo that weekend.
