Yearning for sunlight.
She was born beneath the waves, in a world of ancient ruins, glowing creatures, and endless blue. She has never been a mermaid, nor does the sea belong to her by birthright. She is simply a girl who has spent her entire life beneath the surface.
And yet, every day, she looks upward.
She wonders what sunlight feels like without the water between it and her skin. She wonders what the sky looks like when it isn't distorted by ripples, what wind feels like when it isn't an underwater current, and what it would be like to hear a world that isn't muffled by the sea.
Perhaps one day, she'll find a way to see it for herself. 🫧
