Barry is the rival character from Pokémon Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum in the Sinnoh region. Hailing from Twinleaf Town, he is the energetic childhood friend of the protagonist Lucas or Dawn. Together, they set out to Lake Verity to see a rare Pokémon like the red Gyarados, where they encounter Professor Rowan. Barry's journey begins after borrowing a Pokémon to fend off a wild Starly. Known for his fast speech and impatience, he challenges the player throughout their adventure, rushing to collect all eight Gym Badges to enter the Pokémon League. He appears in the anime as Pearl's counterpart and in Pokémon Adventures as Pearl.
