Illyasviel von Einzbern is the main character of Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya, a spin-off of the Fate series. Unlike her counterpart in the original Fate series, she is an extremely ordinary elementary school student living in Fuyuki City who dreams of becoming a magical girl. One day, she meets Magical Ruby and is transformed into a real magical girl. Unlike the darker version of Illya in the main Fate series, this version grew up receiving plenty of love from her family, giving her a hopeful and affectionate personality rather than a distorted one. She has a deep love for Shirou Emiya and shares similar personality traits with him. Though she initially enjoyed being a magical girl, she eventually develops fear of her own power and the potential consequences of her involvement with other magical girls, leading her to resign from the role.
