Toyama Kasumi is the protagonist of BanG Dream!, a happy-go-lucky first-year student at Hanasakigawa Girls' High School. She searches for the 'Star Beat,' a sparkling feeling from her childhood stargazing. Discovering a star-shaped guitar in a pawnshop leads her to form the band Poppin'Party with classmates Arisa Ichigaya, Sāya Yamabuki, Tae Hanazono, and Rimi Ushigome. Despite hurdles, they bond strongly. Kasumi excels in action and improvisation, has a high challenge spirit, quick to act without hesitation, but also a bad temper and shy side, especially when praised or embarrassed.
