A silver turning key sits on the back of his head. Despite his vibrant appearance, Boxten is shy and uncertain, easily frightened by the world around him. He stutters when speaking and often trails off with ellipses, showing his lack of confidence. He is pessimistic about his own abilities when working on Machines, but he tries his best to encourage others. Boxten finds comfort in trivia and is a big fan of a certain gameshow.
