Abyss Mages are elite enemies found throughout Teyvat in Genshin Impact. They are abyss creatures that command elemental power in battle, with different types utilizing Pyro, Hydro, Cryo, and other elemental energies. For unknown reasons, Abyss Mages can communicate with hilichurls and manipulate their minds easily. They are said to utter a long-forgotten language from which they draw magical power. According to adventurer lore, Abyss Mages occupy the lowest rung of the Abyss Order's hierarchy and roam various lands to scheme destructive deeds. Though some underestimate their threat, their power should not be underestimated. They are found across multiple regions including Mondstadt, Liyue, Inazuma, Sumeru, and Fontaine, with particularly high concentrations in Liyue's Lingju Pass ruins.
