Chespin is a Grass-type Pokémon introduced in Generation VI, one of the starter Pokémon in Pokémon X and Y alongside Fennekin and Froakie. It is a bipedal, mammalian creature primarily light brown with darker arms and three triangular markings around its face. Its thick, bark-like shell protects it from powerful attacks, and the quills on its head are soft but can stiffen for battling. Chespin evolves into Quilladin at level 16 and then Chesnaught at level 36. Despite its curious nature often leading to trouble, it maintains an optimistic attitude and ignores small details. By eating lots of berries, its shell grows sturdier. It stands 0.4 m tall and weighs 9 kg.
