Erika is characterized by her ladylike demeanor and quiet nature, though she possesses a confident and gracefully composed presence in battle. Her key strategy involves using empathy to bring out the best in her Pokémon, often employing status moves like Stun Spore to overwhelm opponents. She readily accepts students to teach them about becoming good Trainers. While generally kind, Erika has a temperamental side, particularly when her perfume creations are insulted. In the manga, she later becomes a supervisor of the Kanto Gym Leaders and even teaches at Celadon University.
