Known for his excessive pride as a magician, he participated in the Fourth Holy Grail War as a Master with the Servant Lancer. Despite his arrogance and initial incompetence in certain areas, Kayneth demonstrated a willingness to risk his life for his fiancée Sola-Ui, showing complexity beneath his haughty exterior. His actions during the Holy Grail War, particularly inflicting an incurable wound on Saber, made him a priority target for Kiritsugu Emiya. After his death, his distant relative Reines El-Melloi Archisorte was designated as his successor to lead the El-Melloi School, and his former disciple Waver Velvet later worked to revive the declining institution.
