Medli is a young Rito and the apprentice attendant of Valoo, the patron deity of the Rito. She is close friends with Prince Komali and often watches over him. In The Wind Waker, she asks Link for help reaching Valoo in Dragon Roost Cavern and later becomes the new Sage of Earth after playing the Earth God's Lyric on her harp. She aids Link in restoring the Master Sword's power and prays in the Earth Temple to repel evil. Medli translates Valoo's words, supports Komali in giving Din's Pearl to Link, and urges Link to visit the Wind Temple.
