Sheik is a mysterious figure from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time who appears as a member of the ancient Sheikah tribe. Sheik serves as a guide to Link, teaching him warp songs and revealing the locations of the five sages needed to awaken them from their temples. Sheik is revealed to be Princess Zelda in disguise, who had transformed her appearance to hide from the evil Ganondorf while waiting for Link to return as an adult. As the seventh sage, Zelda wields the Triforce of Wisdom. After all six sages are awakened, Sheik reveals her true identity to Link at the Temple of Time, explaining the legend of the Triforce and the three virtues of Power, Wisdom, and Courage. However, this revelation exposes Zelda to Ganondorf, who captures her and uses her as bait to lure Link into his castle. Sheik's character represents both wisdom and sacrifice in the battle against evil.
